Who builds Global SharePlay and why it exists.
Global SharePlay is an independent watch-together product for people who want Apple-style SharePlay without being locked to one company’s devices. We make a Chrome extension that keeps YouTube playback in sync across a room of friends.
We are a small studio. There is no growth team, no account database, and no plan to turn rooms into a social network. The work is the extension, the hosted join page, and the sync server that keeps everyone on the same second.

What we are building
- A Chrome extension for synchronized YouTube playback.
- Invite links that land friends on the current video, in the current room.
- Host tools (approve joins, kick members, lock controls) so a room stays watchable.
- A short hosted join/wait page so people never bounce through an internal
chrome-extension://URL.
The Chrome Web Store listing is not live yet. When it is, this site will link it from the homepage.
This website
globalshareplay.com is the public home for the product: what it is, how it works, and the legal pages reviewers and users expect (privacy, terms, contact). Join and wait flows live on redirect.globalshareplay.com. Sync traffic uses the backend host documented in the extension.
